That's funny, because a peach is a relatively short lived tree.

It's more a mythology thing than natural inspiration. The idea is that you will eat the "transcendent peach" and become immortal, as for whether there is an expiry time for the peach and the tree, I don't think it was mentioned.

@V is for Void I am pretty sure that it is more like a certified "starter pack" for immortality in the sense that you only need to eat it once. It was also mentioned that the immortals mostly use it for banquets simply because of the taste and how long it takes for the trees to fruit. It is not the only way toimmortality either.
