@Gulitz T I did see the last years. 2018: 6.7%, 2019: 5.9%, then 2020/2021 averaged out at 5.1%/year. As Li Keqiang said, there are serious downward pressures on the Chinese economy, with low consumption growth and the downsizing of the property sector as two main points.

@HAVANA SCP You can't compre U.S. and China in GDP growth. Libya had GDP growth more than 2X that of China every year for past decade. GDP growth isn't linear. If you look at nations with high GDP growth, they are all developing countries or underdeveloped countries. If you look at countries with very high living comfort, their GDP growth tend to be low. U S. raises interest rates to curb its GDP growth at around 2%. It's like it's easy to push your engine from 60mph to 100mph, but when your engine is reving at 200mph, it's hard to push it to 210mph.

A lot of the growth seems to be wasteful investment directed by the government to keep the economy rolling though. Better to have lower growth rate with higher returns and less debt accumulation.

PPP it's just comparing life style to American, that's why US Nominal and PPP is equal to 1.

For example, GDP percapita Nominal India it's about $2000 but if compared to living lifestyle to US that $2000 is like having $6500 (PPP) in US.

So PPP irrelevant specially in international trade or purchasing commodity using $.
