I think this video just confirms 2 things; 1. the fact that, historically, the US’s economy is just astronomically larger than anyone else’s, considering the 2 closest was Japan in the 1995-96 at only around 70% of the US’s economy and modern China at 71-2% of the Us’s economy. And 2. That Japan’s economy is way larger than I personally thought it was.

Well, GDP nominal is not a good tool to measure the economic power of a nation. GDP PPP however is a better option. Since PPP takes into account the relative cost of local goods, services and inflation rates of the country. And China is already ahead of US.

As fun as that would be (/s) the US would be in a severe disadvantage if it were to happen, China is in the same position that the US was in during ww1 and ww2, the world's largest manufacturer. They would be able to produce more war material, ships and foodstuffs than the US and at least most of their allies combined.
