The story definitely has potential, but there's a problem. The chapters or the writing style of the author to be more precise is too wordy. There is too much of describing that not necessarily relates to world building. The MC is not the dumbest in my opinion and it's not like the other martial arts novels. In this one Martial arts come in a bit late. After reading a few chapters you'll feel tired due to the whole describing. Anyway, the pacing of the story is not fast of anyone's wondering. It is a good read but might no be so for everyone.

Update - After completing book-2 I realised that it only gets better, there is reasonable character development. Just give it a try and cope up with the first few chapters and then the novel gets good.

Great Book Loved it. Quite unlike the usual Xianxia Wuxiaworld picks. Its completely different from those fast-phased novels with new villains every 20 or so chapters. The whole story for the first 50 chapters is the start of cultivation in the school. It has many references from Harry potter (Regarding the School, otherwise its a Cultivation novel). It can be considered slow, But it’s worth the read unlike the novels whose author just write to fill up word count. MC is quite easy going, there are no crazy enemies yet. Easygoing school life. I can’t believe this hasn’t more reviews yet.

This Novel is SO DAMN GOOD. I'm completely and super positively hooked, the characters are well developed, the plot is solid and fresh and doesn't do recycling of tropes , the MC is extremely likeable since he's neither too humble or overbearing.
the author built a world that is neither overly fantastic nor too bland. it's very rich in nice details.
I read this and I feel good. I read some other novels and they drive me mad because they get me hooked yes but they drive me mad with the idiocy of so many damn aspects.
with this novel there's none of that. Everything is quite balanced and captivating in it.

Enjoy the reading and the translation so far. We have:
a. growing weak-to-strong MC, which I always enjoy
b. cultivation school plot that is well thought off
c. cleverly put comedic element that is not too much
d. interesting side characters
The pacing of the story is not too fast, that the reader can enjoy the ride, but not too slow that the reader won't be bored. As the MC's martial art skill grows, his character is also being developed by his teachers and his peers. I particularly enjoy his bright, positive, and not-naive deposition. A cool headed MC is always a plus!

This story is very addictive, I would call the writing style "Deliberate" it feels as if every word has been well shaped specifically for the place its put, I would also credit this to the Translator Pika.
Chapters progress at a more relaxed pace here, but I also feel this helps to convey the main characters disposition, the cultivation system takes a back seat to characters and the choices they make.
there isn't much not to like about the novel, there has been none of the usual filler and repetition from everyone in the peanut gallery, or any "x situation could be imagined" type things.

You should definitely try reading this novel.
It is slow-paced but not in an annoying way. The characters are in my opinion properly developed. They are not black and white but have proper development and there is always a proper reason for what they do. Their behaviour is always explained and they are not completely brainless.
I love how the MC is so carefree. The way he describes himself as a traveller is great in my opinion. He is not someone obsessed with revenge, lust, having an overwhelming strength or slaughter tendencies. He is just an ordinary traveller who just wants to explore the world.

Novel with actual plot, structure and pacing.
Lighthearted and intentionally reminiscent of Harry Potter in its atmosphere.
Will be interesting to see where the author goes with it.
One note about the novel is that the thinking and perspective are very "Chinese".
Not saying this is good or bad but the collectivist mentality of "many before the one" is deeply engrained in the world and might be off putting to some western readers.
All in all, enjoyable to pass the time with.
