A surprisingly enjoyable read. As others have said, there's not much more to it than an interesting slice of life with a MC who is content to enjoy their cheat, avoiding the limelight and the foolish young masters of other novels. Harem? Who needs 'em, I'll just keep getting stronger until nothing can threaten me.

This series fits a very niche category of Cultivation novels In this, the Dao comprehension is not the main focus. Neither is the action exceptionally great in either quantity or quality. The protagonist has no real driving force for cultivating, and if you remove the special ability, has no real talent.

This is one of the few system novels done right. I like that the protagonist does not have heavy desires other than to seek immortality. It is refreshing to see that Su Qin can gain strength without having to chase after treasures. In many Xin Xia/Xuanhuan novels, the method for the main character to increase strength revolves around materialism.

This is pretty much a mediocre slice of life novel. I'm not saying that slice of life is bad, because I do enjoy taking a break from action heavy novels/anime and enjoy some relaxing content, but this is just poorly made/written.

I found this story to be very relaxing, odd when you consider that it's a xuanhuan story. The MC is very level-headed and the cultivation system so far is easy to understand.

Lazy writing pretty much sums this up. While you might be able to get away with saying this is a parody of cultivation and system novels, it doesn't make up for the miles of exposition on random power ups and "well known" people/abilities/items that are constantly being introduced to the story. Almost nothing is set up for more than a few chapters before being rushed to an ending of some sort.

Only if you like a Xianxia slice of life where you wouldn't see the MC falls for the usual cliches of the genre (no young master, no love interest, no fight for treasure, no tribulation....) is basically cultivate himself (alone) to immortality without need to leave his montain.

Cultivation novels with a focus on Buddhism are very difficult to find, especially in english, so I was very happy when I found this novel, however it has progressively gone away from buddhism, such that now the MC is not even related to it, unless he decides on a whim to call himself a buddhist cultivator. The Buddha's Palm on the title continues to be his strongest weapon, however he never uses it

It's just so generic I guess. You can pretty much predict what he is going to do and he lacks personality. He constantly avoids doing anything and you can tell the author puts less and less thought into the things he acquires as the novel progresses. It's good to wait a little time on but there is nothing great about it
